  austria, a member of the eu since 1995, is a country of 8.8 million people with a muslim population of around 600,000 mostly turkish immigrants.

  in 2015 it passed an 'islam law' prohibiting foreign funding of religious groups and creating a duty for muslim organisations to have 'a positive fundamental view towards state and society'.. many mosques in austria have continued to receive money from turkish muslim organisations so the new right-wing government have decided to enforce the law.

  seven mosques have been identified for closure and 60 imams are to be either deported or refused visas.

  I swear liberalism is a sickness. It is ok to say Islam is bad. No need to gas light. Jesus Christ. I can't believe people try to defend it by comparing it to the JW's. Get your head out of your asses already. When I see JW's passively allowing its members to wear bombs and blow themselves and others up, fly planes into buildings, and chop peoples heads off yelling Jehovah akbar, then and only then I will agree....

  there are many terms used at bethel that might sound foreign to normal people.

  there are many words or terms used at bethel that are unique only to their organization.

  here are just a few of them.. “a jack” this is someone who is a slacker or just lazy.. “a pot licker” this term has been used for many years but its connotation is unclear.

  A pot licker is someone who is obviously retarded, but since you can't use that word, 'pot licker' fits the bill.

  many are blaming trump and the republicans and the nra.. is it because of guns that there are so many massacres or could it be that these killers are mental?.

  I just wanted to add that it was added that, "what deer hunter needs a high powered assault weapon that they use in the military to kill humans in order to get a deer for his or her meal?"

  The problem is that the 2nd amendment wasn't written for the deer hunter. It was written for the revolutionary, the militia, the people to keep the government from becoming totalitarian. The 'deer hunter' was never its intent.

  The question that people are scared shitless to ask is, "Is the second amendment needed in our modern society?' And if you believe it's not, how do YOU convince others who believe it is. Personally, I think something is broken in our society. And I'm not sure just banning guns is the solution.

  Are Anointed Female JW`s To Grow Beards In Heaven ?

  ok i have been out for over 25 years however i was active for 33 years and every picture /illustration of the 144,000 in wt publications i ever saw always showed the anointed/144000 with jesus on the throne apparently all male with beards.. not one woman was ever depicted in their drawings/illustrations that i ever saw of those sharing kingly rule with christ jesus not one.. and the saying is : 'a picture speaks more than a thousand words".

  i can hear a jw apologist saying now [ their is no gender in heaven neither male or female ] well if that is the case why are everybody illustrated wearing a beard clearly a sign of being of the male gender.?.

  in the wt illustrations/pictures of angels they are not shown as having beards giving the impression they are neither male or female .however not with those taken to heaven to rule with christ the anointed.. maybe the governing body of jehovah`s witnesses are showing their true feelings about women who claim to be of the anointed .. that the g.b.

  Which is better minimum wage or minimum income?

  we were having this discussion in the office the other day and we came to the conclusion minimum wage is better because it still adds to the economy vs minimum income which someone could potentially stay at home and do nothing and still get paid without producing a thing for the greater economy.. thoughts?.

  Cong accounts analysis?

  anyone on here an ex accounts servant?

  i’d be interested in a projection of what percentage of contributions come from elderly jw’s.

  i.e, money that will be diminishing over next 5 or 10 years as these ones pass on.. i estimate that in one of my previous congs 50% of the contribution totals of approximately £400 each month were being made by the over 70’s demographic.. within the other 50% were pioneers and low paid workers who put in regular but small amounts.. i guess when the accountants ring the alarm bells you start cutting the biggest costs; full time servants, buildings, printed literature.

  In my old congregation 5 people contributed over 75% of the contributions. That's 5 people out of about 95. The other 90 contributed on average about $2 or so each. It was pitiful. I should amend that...out of the other 90, about 10 of them contributed about $20 each. The rest of the congregation didn't do diddly.

  Meetings are boring

  meetings are boring for young kids and old but i'm going to focus on young kids 5 or 8.. i think is unfair that young kids get punished for falling asleep or zoning out.. as meetings are not as boring but i have to go to school the next day and staying up till 10pm isn't the best i can't get out of going.. but think of the young kids that dont even understand most of the teachings.. i know most on the site are adults but i heard of adults falling asleep..

  I remember brother "elder full of himself" had a local needs part about falling asleep during the meeting a few years ago. Sister "longtime pioneer" about 5 minutes into the part let out a loud 'snort' because she fell asleep. That brother was soooo upset. We even had an attendant meeting about waking ones up gently by going up to them and tapping their shoulders to wake them. It was in retrospect very amusing. Personally, I never really cared. I was more upset by the 5 to 8 y/o having their farting contests.
